According to new standards, the maximum weight of the helmet will be 1.2 kg instead of 1.5 kg and every producer will have to follow these standards in every situation. .
New rules will be applicable from January 15, 2019
The new rules set by the BIS on helmets will be applicable from January 15, 2019. In this, motorcycle helmets manufacturers have only six months left to prepare the helmets according to new standards.
Apart from this, the Ministry of Road Transport has also started the process for helmets manufacturers, in which all the manufacturers have to follow the standards for obtaining BIS certificates. In such a situation, construction of non-ISI helmets will be invalid.

In many cases, motorcycle riders wear such helmets which are ISI markers, but are not made for bikers to avoid traffic violations. While doing so, they do not get involved in traffic violations.
