False news is going on odds: the Government is concerned about the rising incidents of Mob Leitching
New delhi date. 21: There has been disagreement over the fax news between the government of India and WhatsApp since August. The Indian government asked to allow WhatsApp Tracking Messages from WhatsApp. But, WhatsApp did not refuse to take over the secrecy of privacy.
After the refusal of WhatsApp, the Electronics and IT Ministry is preparing to send more official letter to the company. This letter will be alerted to the company that if it does not meet the demand of the government, the WhatsApp can be banned in the country.
It may be mentioned that this will be the third official letter from July to date.
In India, events such as Mob Leitching have been created after spreading fak news and rumors through WhatsApp. Chris DeNiel, CEO of WhatsApp, had recently met with Union Information and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in Delhi. During this visit, the government asked WhatsApp to find a technical compromise to stop rumors, reinforce porn and fake news.
Keeping in view this wish of the government, WhatsApp has made many changes, so that fakt news is not spread, just like a message can be sent to only five groups, which can be sent in the first 250. Along with this, there is clear information about whether the message has been forwarded or not. However, this is not enough. The government says that, if WhatsApp wants to not make an agreement with its message encryption, then it should give it another technical way.
It is worth mentioning that India has 1.5 billion active users in India and India is its biggest market. The company is also planning to offer services for some new services such as payment platforms and advertisers.
The government had put these three conditions
1. Fake news and rumors are being stopped on Whatsapp and an effective way to find them.
2. To create an office to work in India
3. Finds technical compromise to know the origins of fax messages and appoint officials to resolve the complaint.
